This extension turns a PowerPoint file you upload into a summary. This page explains exactly what happens to that file, what we keep, and what we do not.
The short version. We have no accounts and ask for no personal details. The only thing that leaves your computer is the text of the deck you choose to upload, and it is used solely to produce your summary. We do not store it, sell it, or use it for advertising. The extension does not read the pages you browse.
When you upload a presentation and press Summarize, the extension opens the file on your own computer and extracts its text: slide titles, bullet lists, text boxes, and — if you leave the option on — the speaker notes. Only this extracted text is sent to our server. The file itself never leaves your computer.
The text is forwarded to our language model provider, OpenAI, which generates the summary and returns it. We hold the text only for the seconds it takes to answer your request. It is not written to a database, not logged, and not kept afterwards.
All of this lives in your browser's local storage. We cannot read it.
To see whether the service works and where it is used, we keep an anonymous log of events: the date and time, the kind of request (summary or slide notes), how many slides the deck had, how long the answer took, the two-letter country code derived from the network address, and the browser language. The network address itself is used only for the daily rate limit and is never written to this log. We also record when the welcome and uninstall pages are opened. None of this contains the content of your presentation or anything that identifies you.
If you rate the extension or answer the question on the uninstall page, we receive your rating, the reason you picked, and any text you chose to write. We do not receive your name, email, or IP address, and there is nothing in a feedback entry that identifies you.
The extension requests no access to websites.
The extracted text is processed by OpenAI purely to generate your summary. We use no other third-party service, and no analytics provider.
The extension is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from them.
